Internet marketing is the key to the future of a successful business. Here's the first major problem with many of the businesses around you today.


Their market is too small. By this I mean that they their market is within a 30 mile radius, or 50 minutes in a car, and that's it. They rarely market to or target outside this radius, because they consider that its likely to be money wasted, and they're often right.

You see their sales model is someone sees our ad, is looking for a new sofa (for example), and comes to visit our shop where we are presented with the opportunity to sell to them, face to face.

Which worked fine in the past, but the past is over!

And expenses are too high, physical premises, rent/ mortgage payments, rates, overheads, advertising etc, etc, etc

Secondly, and this is a direct marketing strategy that has transferred very successfully to the net, you have the opportunity to collate the names and details of the people that visit your online store, and then in due course market to them details of your special offers, holiday deals etc.

To acquire the opportunity to market specifically and directly only to the people who have visited your online web store and given you their name and email address is by itself an extremely powerful reason to set up your website today.

Next, remember that the cost to email to entire list clients which could be anything from 50 to 50,000 can be at the touch of a button with email, and even more astonishingly it will cost you next to nothing. Now consider the cost of targeting anywhere near 50,000 interested people by any other method and you will begin to remark the tremendous efficiencies of internet marketing.

Similarly, there are endless strategies for delivering and increasing the volume of visitors that view your website, known as "traffic." Some of the more effective include writing articles about your business, industry or niche that have the multiple benefits of establishing you as an expert. If you can satisfy the curiosities and problems of your target market by writing explanatory articles they will certainly be more predisposed to do business with you.

Other strategies for drawing more traffic include using Google AdWords, whereby you pay Google every time someone clicks on your ad and visits your site. This could start at anywhere from 5p per click.
